Alan Road has a Young Peoples Church, which meets on Sunday mornings. In addition for older children there is the Methodist Association of Youth Clubs (MAYC) and both Boy's and Girls Brigades. More information about

Our young people have been achieving high standards in all they do, giving them and their leaders a tremendous amount of pleasure and satisfaction.
The Boys Brigade have done particularly well in field and track events, winning trophies, and individual boys have gained high achievement awards. They've stretched their legs and their powers of endurance in
taking part in the Orwell Walk to raise funds for the Company and shared in a five-a-side football match with a BB Company from London. After finishing their Summer Session with a Jubilee BBQ they will be off
to summer camp in Weymouth.
The Girls Brigade have also had triumphs in sports, despite dodging the rain in some of the events. They continue in a variety of activities, learning crafts, cookery etc, and gaining more and more
badges. Three Brigaders have done very well in passing their 'Young Leaders Training' and gaining their certificates. They end their Summer Session with a party night.
Once a month on a Sunday morning there is a Parade Service when the whole BB and GB companies take part in worship. The Company colours are proudly carried into the service and carried out again at the end of
the service.
The Youth Club continues to thrive and members enjoy themselves on Friday evenings in games and other activities, as well as a BBQ which proved, apparently by the amount of food consumed, that they all have hollow
legs!!
The Young People's Church continues to be part of God's family, and at the end of each Sunday morning's service, join the adult congregation in contributing to and sharing in our act of worship.
Our young people will continue to meet on Sunday mornings and the Brigades and Youth Club will start again in September.
